Through our Expanding Horizons team we have setup a range of exclusive courses and events for students in years 12 and 13 to increase awareness for the world of work, higher education choices, and to develop valuable skills for business and beyond.
These one day events are hosted by leading employers and universities. By attending you will find out much more about a particular industry or subject area. As part of the day you will meet with experienced staff and recent graduate recruits, or students, and have the chance to discuss with them how they got into their sector and how you could to. An Expanding Horizons Insight course gives you a ‘real life’ view about the industry or subject area that interests you, so you can make a better decision about whether it’s right for you.
To support your employment potential these one day workshops are a great way to develop the transferable skills that employers are seeking. Our Expanding Horizons Skills Development courses are held away from school by experienced practitioners and help you learn valuable work skills whilst boosting confidence and improving your self-awareness. By writing that you have developed these skills, in your personal statement or future CV, it shows admissions teams and employers that you have the skills and knowledge they are seeking.
